I am directed to acknowledge the receipt of your letter

of the 16th instant in which you complain of the actions and conduct of certain Police Officers towards you on the 14th instant. In reply I enclose copies of the statements made by the Police Officers concerned, and I am to add that I shall be

pleased to investigate the discrepancies between these

statements and those contained in your letter under acknowledgment if you will be good enough to call at my office at 3 o'clock tomorrow afternoon with such witnesses as you may desire to call, when the Police Officers and their

witnesses will be present.
